Cirencester Golf Club

Situated in the Heart of the Cotswolds, Cirencester Golf Club offers a traditional, welcoming atmosphere and a picturesque, interesting golf course. Many of the holes are virtually unchanged from James Braid's original design in 1910 and offer a pleasant panorama over the surrounding countryside. In 1996, three new holes were incorporated into the layout, these give an interesting finish to the round as well as attractive views across to the picturesque village of Baunton. The golf course at Cirencester Golf Club is built on free-draining limestone and remains playable throughout the year.

The 18 hole, par 72 championship course at Gloucester Golf Club has been designed to obtain the greatest possible benefit from the natural form of the hillside - the varying undulations as the hill falls from a height of 600 feet to 200 feet at the base of the course: the streams and small ponds which time has worn into the landscape plus many tree and wooded areas which have been left as nature planted and nurtured and which gives the course a natural beauty. Be especially wary when playing the downhill 18th where many golfers have tried to drive the green, with disastrous consequences! Gloucester Golf Club is sited opposite the Ramada Jarvis hotel, which can be used for group accommodation and conferences.

Minchinhampton Golf Club have determined that one course is designated as a two ball course and the other a three/four ball course on any particular day. This way, golf proceeds apace with little hold up or need for "calling through".

The original Painswick Golf Club course had been laid out in 1891 by David Brown, Open Champion in 1868, and his course was of 9 holes played in the opposite direction to the present plan.
