Bearwood Golf Club

Bearwood Golf Club is situated roughly a mile and a half from Arborfield Cross. It is a parkland course that is relatively easy walking, meaning players of all ages and abilities, and with all pockets and persuasions will enjoy their time. Water does, however, come into play on several of the holes and a super 40-acre lake on the sixth and seventh holes will test your club selection and accuracy to the limit. Get it wrong here and you could be heading for a watery grave. The members are a very friendly bunch and are well known for making visitors feel welcome.

The Berkshire Golf Club is one of England 's more exclusive golf clubs and can be a bit pricey for a round. But, if you're prepared to pay for quality (and this is sheer quality in every sense of the word) then The Berkshire is the very place. Some of the best amateur players in the history of golf have played The Berkshire as it is home to the annual Berkshire Trophy. Recent winners of the 72-hole stroke-play event are England team member Ross Fisher and Walker Cup star and former British Amateur champion Gary Wolstenholme. There are two courses on offer, the Red Course and the Blue Course.

 

 

Billingbear Park Golf Club

Originally one of the oldest golf courses in Southern England, golf has been played at Billingbear Park since the late nineteenth century. The land was then farmed during the two world wars before being rebuilt as a golf course in 1989. Since then a new nine hole course has been added, so that there are now two, nine hole golf courses on this medieval site.

Blue Mountain Golf Centre

The Blue Mountain Golf Centre boasts an 18-hole, 6,097 yard course situated 10 minutes from the M4 and M3. It also includes excellent teaching and practice facilities. The parkland course features water hazards and the centre also has a golf shop, buggies, driving range and clubhouse with bar and restaurant.

 

 

Burnham Beeches Golf Club

Donnington Grove Country Club

The Donnington Grove Estate is set in a delightful and secluded position on the outskirts of Newbury and is overlooked by the historic Donnington Castle . It runs to 550 acres and is a mixture of parkland, farmland and woodland, with the River Lambourn running through it. In November 1991 work began on building a championship golf course and the conversion of the house into a hotel. The course architect was Dave Thomas, the Ryder Cup player, who has been responsible for several well known courses, including the Brabazon at the Belfry and Bowood in Wiltshire. Donnington Grove Country Club opened in June 1993. Formally known as Parasampia Golf Club.

 

 

Donnington Valley Golf Club

The Course, re-designed and lengthened between 1998 and 2000, is set in beautiful rolling countryside, and is now a challenging 6353 yards, 18 hole, par 71 from the back tees. Although some of the holes are quite forgiving the closing four holes are regarded as one of the toughest finishes in the country, with water featuring prominently on 15th, 16th and 17th holes. The clubhouse, Snelsmore House, a Grade II listed Victorian building, commands magnificent views over the 9th/18th green and offers members exceptional golfing and social facilities.

 

 

Downshire Golf Complex

East Berkshire Golf Club

The Course stands on the North Downs near the western end of that glorious belt of pine and heather country that was once the Forest of Windsor . An ancient Roman road, known to later superstition as the Devil's Highway, traverses the southern edge of the course, but little signs of it remain, and the visitors attention is more likely to be caught by the beauty of the surroundings, the brilliant orange of the gorse in spring time standing out against the dark green of the firs, or in autumn the rich purple of the heather contrasting with the varied tints of the magnificent old oaks and beeches.

 

 

Goring & Streatley Golf Club

Hennerton Golf Club

Hennerton Golf Club is set in some of the most beautiful and tranquil countryside in Berks overlooking spectacular views of the Thames Valley . Hennerton originally opened as a 9-hole course in 1992 and after four years of planning and construction opened as an 18-hole course on 3rd June 2006.

 

 

Hurst Golf Club

Maidenhead Golf Club

Set out in 150 acres of splendid wooded parkland previously owned by Lord Desborough, less than half a mile from the town centre, Maidenhead Golf Club first opened for play on 12th December 1896. The course architect was Alex Simpson, a Scot from Forfar, whose design was enhanced in 1908 when the legendary J.H.Taylor, five times winner of The Open Championship, was commissioned to introduce improvements. These included constructing 17 new bunkers and lengthening the course by 700 yards. Maidenhead Golf Club is a Private Members Club established in 1896 and management prides itself on the welcome that members and guests receive at the Club.

 

 

The Club at Mapledurham

Mill Ride Golf Club

At Ascot's Mill Ride Estate, you are greeted by a landscape of perfectly manicured and cross cut fairways intermingled with lakes and the mounding and hollows which give this championship golf course a unique parkland design coupled with an inland links feel to the starting and closing holes. Designed by international course architect Donald Steele, golfers must contend with seven picturesque lakes which all come into play (some twice) and numerous copses of woodland which all help to create a variety of playing conditions. The opening and closing holes have a links type feel about them with the 1st and 17th holes sharing a St.Andrews style double green, and a relaxing half way hut well positioned to recharge the batteries for the memorable 10th and 11th signature holes that await.

 

 

Newbury & Crookham Golf Club

Set against the picturesque backcloth of the Hampshire Downs, Newbury and Crookham offers views of enchanting woodland and beautiful parkland, a visual delight, meandering from Greenham Common to Newbury Racecourse and back. Although under 6,000 yards the course has the feel of being much longer and is a tight 18 hole challenge where accuracy is all-important. Improvements in the past few years, undertaken to modernize the course, have taken place under the guidance of the internationally known Course Architect, Howard Swan. The course offers magnificent vistas at almost every high point , at the 3rd green bluebells abound in the Spring, as do thousands of daffodils planted at the 8th green, greeting the weary golfer and lifting his or her spirits as one of the most difficult par 4s in the south of England is completed.

Reading Golf Club

The course at Reading Golf Club is a great test for golfers of all levels, making splendid use of the undulating wooded terrain of the Chiltern Hills . The trees and bunkers on the course, combined with the undulating ground, place a premium on accurate driving. A golf course has been on the present site since 1910, originally known as Caversham and South Oxon Golf Club.  The original 12 holes were designed by James Braid and a further 6 holes were added in 1911, although there have been various alterations throughout the years.

 

 

Royal Ascot Golf Club

Royal Ascot Golf Club founded in 1887 was in the centre of Royal Ascot Racecourse for 117 Years surrounded by Ascot Heath. Due to the expansion of Royal Ascot Race Course a New Golf Course & Clubhouse started construction in January 2004 approximately 1/2 mile from the Old Course & within the confines of Windsor Forest . The construction of Royal Ascot's brand new 18 hole Championship Parkland Course opened for play in August 2005. The New Clubhouse opened earlier during 2004.

 

 

Sand Martins Golf Club

Opened in 1993, the course has been cleverly designed with two distinct and contrasting nine holes; an outward nine, set in parkland with lakes, water hazards and dog-legs and a stunning 'links style' inward nine with sand banks, broom and a host of challenges. Sunningdale Ladies Golf Club

Sunningdale Ladies Golf Club is situated in Cross Road , Sunningdale off the A30, it is a few minutes from Sunningdale Village and the Level Crossing. It is adjacent to Sunningdale Golf Course in Ridge Mount Road . Sunningdale was developed on land originally forming part of Windsor Forest , it was bought in 1524 by St John's College Cambridge who still own it today. In those days Sunningdale had few houses, the area being mostly common land covered with gorse, heather and a few trees.

Swinley Forest Golf Club

Swinley Forest is an absolutely charming golf course sited on the famous Surrey/Berkshire sand belt, but it is a club that is frozen in time, exclusive, unusual and totally eccentric. In fact you would be hard pressed to describe it as a conventional golf club: there is no captain and despite being in existence for nearly 100 years, no history, except in its members' heads. Only recently have scorecards been printed, holes allocated par figures, and competitions introduced for Swinley's distinguished gentlemen members.

 

 

Temple Golf Club

The course was designed by the 1887 and 1889 Open Champion Willie Park Junior as an inland links course and to this day the spirit of his course is maintained. The West Berkshire Golf Club

Wexham Park Golf Course

There are three courses at Wexham, the BLUE 18 hole course, the challenging RED 9 hole course and the GREEN 9 hole course which is ideal for inexperienced and novice golfers. All three courses are open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk.

 

 

Winter Hill Golf Club

Winter Hill is a beautiful parkland course that's set in a curve of the world famous River Thames with wonderful views across the surrounding area and beyond. There are some particularly long par fours and a couple of par fives that will test your long iron play to its very limits. The heavily guarded greens and numerous hidden surprises mean this course is no pushover - you need to keep your wits about you at all times or pay the penalty. It is a lovely looking course and the tees and fairways are usually in great condition while the greens are some of the best around. In the summer months they can become quite fast, making those shaky three footers seem just that bit longer!

 

 

Wokefield Park Golf Club
